Lasagna Roll Ups

One of the hardest part of cooking with 3 kids is finding things they will eat…other than mac and cheese!! Of course once I find a recipe they approve of, I have to share it so other parents can give it a try!! This is a favorite in my house for both the kids and adults! And if you want to get some veggies in, just puree them and add them to the sauce. The kids never even know! Enjoy!!!

Ingredients: 12004777_1046069358759863_2111839139492701640_n

**12 Whole Wheat Lasagna Noodles
**1/3 Cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese
**3 cups Sugar Free Pasta Sauce
**10oz. Frozen Spinach – THAW AND DRAIN
**2 1/2 cups Fat Free Cottage Cheese
**2 cups Part Skim Shredded Mozzarella
**3 egg white
**2 tsp. Garlic Powder

Cook your pasta according to the package instructions. Combine parmesan cheese, spinach, cottage cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, egg white, and garlic powder in a mixing bowl – Mix well. Spread 3/4 cup of sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Lay the noodles out on a plate, and spread the cheese/spinach mixture on them. Roll them up and place them in the baking dish. Top with the remaining sauce. Bake COVERED at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and top with 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella. Return to oven and bake for 5 more minutes, or until cheese is melted.

Monday Musings Dec 21st

The past two weeks have been crazy In my house! First I got a horrible stomach bug, then my oldest son came down with a bad cold/cough/fever and then all 3 kids got it!! I’m just saying prayers they feel better before Christmas as they are so excited to do lots of fun activities. Its great as they get older, they appreciate the fun of Christmas even more!!! I’m working on getting myself back on schedule, its crazy how just a few days off, set you far behind!!

This week I’ve had lots of emails for jobs, but no one wants to actually work haha. You have to work to get paid, that’s just the way it is!!! Basically if you do not have a skill you can market, then your options are starting your own business, direct sales, or customer service jobs. Yes there are virtual assistant jobs and data entry BUT you need to be highly qualified to get those. Remember to check out our Jobs From Home Page to find a customer service job, or our Work From Home Directory to find a business you can start.

Wanna know a secret??? I remember people!!! Especially those that are very sweet and appreciate of my tips…and especially those that are very rude haha. I get emails all the time from companies with jobs available, and I keep a list of people who might want those jobs. And of course those at the top of the list are those who use their manners, say please and thank you, and respect other business owners of the page. So please remember to always use your manners, sure you may be having a bad day, but that doesn’t mean you can be rude to myself, or anyone else on the page as we are all trying to help.

Is It Time For A Career Change?

“When do you switch jobs?”

This is a question I’ve heard many times, and it’s actually a very tough one to answer! When it comes to working from home, some things work, and some things do not! But also, you change, life changes, and circumstances change! What you once had time for and a passion for, can fade.1baad1a3ace8d4cdd01f3933e3ea6b1d

That’s when you need to ask yourself, are you wanting to switch companies because it truly is not working out, or because YOU are not doing the work? The average time to build a business is 1-2 years with you working every day! Are you doing that??

I see so many people jump from company, to company, to company and it is NOT a good thing to do! It makes you lose credibility with your followers, plus it makes people nervous to join as your business partner as they wonder if you will leave them.

If you are leaving the business because the product has changed, you have lost your passion for the company, or you truly do not enjoy working for them, then that’s ok! In fact, you should share that with your followers, as many people relate to your honesty and they will understand instead of thinking you are just looking to make a quick buck!

I personally have joined two companies, and found their products were not what I thought, so I left! I let all my customers know why I left so they could make an educated decision for themselves, plus so they were aware I truly had their best interest in mine. (Keep in mind, you don’t want to bash a company or product, if you need to let people know you left, do it in a mature fashion! And never ever ever poach customers or promoters from your old company!) There is nothing wrong with switching companies, if you do it for the right reasons and not simply trying to get rich quick, because that doesn’t exist!

If you have put in the time, the hard work, and the passion to make your business successful and it’s still not going well, then yes it may be time to look at other options!! Sometimes the items you love, just don’t sell well! Other times, your market doesn’t have the same passion you do. And sometimes, there are too many reps for the same company in your circle of friend. And one of the most popular reasons now….selling products on Facebook doesn’t work anymore!

These are all common reasons you might not be doing well, no matter how hard you try! I personally have used a product for years that I LOVE, but it doesn’t appeal to many of my friends. I promote it on the side for myself to have the discount, but I had to come to the conclusion that with the small amount of free time I had, I could not turn it into a full time income. I love the product and company and won’t leave, but I don’t have time for parties or events anymore.

Sometimes you have to have those honest talks with yourself, and see if you can put more time in, or if you truly need another option. Be 100% honest with yourself! Write down how many hours a week you are currently working, and if you can do more! Look for events to go to the find new customers, or ask local friends to host a party! Take catalogs, flyers, and business cards to local stores and ask if you can leave them. Offer your past customers a gift for referring a friend to host a party. You have lots of options on ways to grow your business, but if you are doing all these things and coming up empty, then yes it might be time to add something new. Remember though, every business takes time to build and there is no “get rich quick” job, so even if you start a new business, it will take time!!

Healthy Crock Pot Chili

One of the only things I like about winter is getting to eat lots of soup!! I’m one of those people who can’t eat soup when its hot outside, so I really enjoy it for most of the winter. I normally make 4 different types of soup, and freeze them so we have an easy meal every week. Chili is one of the favorites in my house, my 18 month old LOVES chili!! I like it as its packed full of protein, healthy, and fills you up! Plus this recipe is super easy and makes a huge batch so I also have something for lunch all week too. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Healthy Crock Pot Chili12063587_10153286085164576_4687325389345251948_n

1 Onion

1 Yellow Pepper

1 Red Pepper

2 Cans Tomato Sauce (15 Oz)

2 Can Diced Tomatoes (15 Oz)

2 Cans Black Beans (15 Oz)

2 Cans Kidney Beans (15 Oz)

1 Cup Frozen Corn

1 Tbsp Chili Powder (add more if you like your chili to have a kick!)

1 Tbsp Cumin

1 Tsp Salt

½ Tsp Pepper

10353088_1061867783846687_4815752159621034768_nPour the olive oil into a saute pan and cook the ground turkey. While it’s cooking, chop up the onion and peppers and pour them in the crock pot. Rinse off the beans and add those to the crock pot too. Next add the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Once the ground turkey is brown, add it to the crock pot along with the corn. Stir the ingredients in the crock pot. Next add the spices and stir again. One everything has been stirred, turn the crock pot to low and cook for 6 hours (or 4 hours on high).

Serve with your favorite toppings and enjoy!!

You can also freeze this and warm it up when you need it!
