Laugh in The Face of Stress

September 26, 2015 | Leave a Comment

Ever have one of those weeks where just everything that can go wrong, does?!?! ME ME ME!!!! I’m normally a very optimistic person and try and always stay positive, but sometimes it’s just HARD! How do I handle those days?!?! I embrace it and laugh!

12011153_10153235054244576_6227596607985022481_nI know you are probably thinking that is crazy, but sometimes laughter truly is the best medicine! The past two weeks have been crazy insane! My daughter had a health care and our closing date on our house changed FIVE time which opened up a whole new load of problems! For example, our paper work was messed up so we have to pay flood insurance for a year even though we aren’t in a flood zone. We also got told last minute our closing date was changing AGAIN so now we are stuck paying for a Uhaul for a whole week. And we have no help with moving since our new date is the middle of the week! On top of that, I got my son a whole week ahead in his homeschooling to be prepared for our move and thanks to the delays, his school supplies are packed and now he is going to be a week behind!

When that much stuff happens, you can either get upset, or just laugh!!! To me, that is God saying “I’m in charge, stop planning. I know what I am doing.” Everything possible that could go wrong, DID! But it teaches me to stop being so OCD and try and go with the flow. Try and laugh more and remember what is truly important, my healthy family!!! Sure this situation stinks, but I try and not dwell on it!

My key tips for dealing with a bad situation, is talk about, accept you can’t change it, get some exercise, and find the silver lining! For me, I walk daily as it’s exercise but it also is stress relief. I literally feel my stress draining out of me when I’m outside in the beautiful world and moving my body. That’s just me personally, so each person has to find their stress reliever and turn to that in times of trouble.

Stress can eat you alive, make you sick, gain weight, not sleep etc so find good ways to relieve it! Laugh, exercise, and spend time with your friends. It truly helps!!

About Dana Wikoff

Welcome to my little spot on the Web!!! I’m a work from home mom of 3, personal trainer, sports nutritionist, wife, and animal lover. I’m originally from GA but currently reside in Northern VA. I love spending time with my kids, doing crafts, staying active, and being outside. I also am a big fan of reading and love all different books!! I started this site as I’m always getting questions about how I manage everything. My own business, 3 kids, weight loss after a baby….it’s not easy, but I hope to share a little bit here and there about how I multi task everything I do. My house is messy, but my kids are happy!!! Hope you enjoy!!!
